Students earn the Certificate in User-Centered Design upon successful completion of four of the six courses in the program: one autumn course, two in winter quarter, one in spring or summer quarter.
Most students complete the certificate within four quarters. In the event students do not complete necessary coursework within four quarters, they can complete the program as a single course enrollee on a space available basis. To continue in the program and earn the certificate, participants are required to earn a grade of 2.7 or higher in each course, and to maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 (B or better). Students should contact their Graduate Program Advisor if they are unable to complete the program as scheduled.
In order to request a hard copy of the certificate, students must complete the following steps after grades have been posted on your transcript for your final quarter:
- Fill out the UCD Completion Form.
- Send email to the HCDE Program Coordinator, Alanna Daniels with "[YOUR NAME] UCD Certificate Completion" as subject line to inform them you are requesting the official certificate.
Students can expect to receive a hard copy of their certificate in the mail in approximately six to eight weeks.
