College of Engineering Awards

The department of Human Centered Design & Engineering celebrates two department recipients of the annual faculty, staff, and student awards from the College of Engineering.

Sean Munson, Assistant Professor in HCDE, will receive the 2017 junior faculty award. This award recognizes faculty members at the assistant professor rank who exemplify excellence in research and education; show that research results contribute to the expansion of knowledge or improvement of quality of life; and show evidence of making an impact to improve education. In 2015, Munson received the College of Engineering Award for excellence in teaching.
Kerem Özcan, PhD student in HCDE, will receive the student award for teaching. This award recognizes students who demonstrate exemplary teaching through enthusiasm for the subject and ability to engage students; original and innovative approaches in the classroom; and enhance the participation of under-represented groups.

The awards will be presented at the upcoming College of Engineering Awards Ceremony and reception on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. in the South Ballroom of the Husky Union Building.
