President
Allen Peilin Liu
Hi there! I’m Allen, a senior in HCDE, working toward founding an AI startup. Away from the class and work, you’ll find me hiking, snowboarding, or planning the next trip. I’m looking forward to creating opportunities that will bring people together! Come say hi at an HCDEsa event! I’d love to hear from you.
Vice President
Simra Jahin
Hi there! My name is Simra, and I’m a junior in HCDE and textual studies. I’m so excited to be your Vice President this year! Outside of school, I love trying new cafes (and ranking them on Beli), cooking/baking, gem painting, and watching the Great British Bake Off. My favorite part of HCDE is taking apart and reimagining the technology and systems around us. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions (or cafe recommendations).
Design & Marketing Coordinator
Haize Ha
Hello! I’m Haize, a senior in Human Centered Design & Engineering with a minor in Data Science, and your Design & Marketing Coordinator for HCDEsa this year! My favorite part of HCDE is learning how we can improve people’s lives through design and technology and getting to work on meaningful projects with my peers. This year, I hope to help more HCDE students get involved in our community, connect with each other, and feel inspired! Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, exploring good restaurants, trying new sandwich recipes, and working out.
Secretary
Dharini Venkatesh
Hi! My name's Dharini and I'm a senior in HCDE. I'm super excited to be on the HCDESA internal team as the Secretary this year! A little bit about me--I really love cows (an abnormal amount). I also love cooking, sewing, reading, and more. A few of my favorite tv shows are Only Murders in the Building, Jane the Virgin, and BBC's Sherlock. My favorite part of HCDE is the extra focus on the people who are often overlooked in favor of profitability. I love being a part of that!
Treasurer
James Kim
Hello! My name is James. I’m a junior in HCDE and your treasurer for the student association this year. My favorite part about HCDE is the problem-solving we get to do with people at the center. A little bit about me: I love being outside and playing sports like volleyball! I’m looking forward to meeting more people in the HCDE community. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Community Outreach Coordinator
Katie Duong
Hello! My name is Katie and I’m a junior majoring in Human Centered Design & Engineering and minoring in Data Science. I’m looking forward to this year as the HCDEsa’s Community Outreach Coordinator with the goal of strengthening the SA’s relationships with our student populations, alumni network, and beyond! Outside of HCDE, I spend my time watching reality TV, collecting perfume, and cafe hopping. I love that HCDE spotlights human experiences through empathetic design, and I can’t wait to host events that spotlight HCDE’s uniqueness!
