HCDE Natural Sciences Course Lists

Note: The requirements on this page apply to HCDE undergraduates admitted to the HCDE bachelor's program for Autumn 2024 onwards. For more information regarding changes to the HCDE BS curriculum for students admitted Autumn 2024 or later, see the HCDE Undergraduate Curriculum Changes FAQs. Note Regarding Course List Changes

The HCDE Department has made changes that impact our admission prerequisites and our mathematics and sciences course lists. Students who will be applying to begin the HCDE major in Autumn 2026 or later should note that MATH 120, PHYS 114-116, and PSYCH 202 are no longer accepted as HCDE admission prerequisites and these courses plus the PHYS 117-119 labs no longer apply towards the course lists above for HCDE students admitted to the major for Autumn 2026 or later.

HCDE students who entered the major prior to Autumn 2026 and who have not yet taken these courses are encouraged to select other courses from the HCDE math and sciences course lists. HCDE students who were admitted to or placed into the major for Autumn 2024 or Autumn 2025, who will be graduating in Autumn 2027 or later, and who have already taken these courses are encouraged to schedule a current BS student appointment to chat with our undergraduate adviser about how this would impact their degree.

Additional information can be found in the HCDE Undergraduate Curriculum Changes FAQs and on the HCDE BS admission page.
