NOTE: If you're planning to apply to the Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Engineering and plan to use this certificate as your first stackable certificate for that degree, please apply to our certificate before June 25th.

Application materials
To be considered for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Human Centered AI, applicants must submit:
- Unofficial transcripts for at least your Bachelor's degree
- Resume or CV
- Essay: Please provide a short answer (~250 words) to this prompt:
- What experience do you have with Human Centered Design and Engineering?This could be about our department and/or about the (academic or professional) field.
- Statement of Purpose: Please provide a short answer (~250 words) to this prompt:
- Why are you interested in Human-Centered AI?
Applicants will need to have a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution or equivalent.
English proficiency requirements
If English is not your native language, you must demonstrate English proficiency.
Our Graduate Certificate in Human Centered AI has the same English proficiency requirements as the HCDE MS program. View the HCDE English proficiency requirements.
International students
To enroll, applicants must already have an immigration status that permits study in the United States. This program unfortunately doesn't qualify as the basis for an applicant to obtain or maintain F-1 visa status through it.
