Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Sean Munson speaks as part of the panel, "#Winning: the Science of Elections Online," with Science Online Seattle on October 23, 2012.

Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Sean Munson recently spoke as part of a panel at Science Online Seattle on, "#Winning: the Science of Elections Online." Also on the panel were Travis Kriplean, a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at the University of Washington (UW); and Elizabeth Wiley, a graduate student in the Department of Communication at the UW.

Munson, Kriplean, and Wiley discussed the way the Internet has changed elections, the impact of social media practices and preferences on political discourse, and the impacts of online political engagement on voter behavior and opinions. The event was livestreamed for those who could not attend in person and the video may also be viewed online.
