The department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) recognizes PhD student Taylor Scott's excellence in teaching with the 2015 HCDE Student Innovator Award for Teaching. HCDE Chair David McDonald presented Scott with the award at the HCDE Open House on June 1, 2015.

Commenting on Scott's teaching, Associate Professor Cecilia Aragon writes:

"Taylor is an exceptional teacher who goes above and beyond the call of duty with his deep commitment to students’ learning experiences. Repeatedly, the courses that he contributes to—as both an instructor of record and a TA—are among the highest rated in our department.

As his faculty adviser, it has been a pleasure to observe Taylor's passion as a teacher and scholar over the past 3 1/2 years. I am quite certain that Taylor will distinguish himself as an instructor in his remaining career at UW, and will go on to become one of those remarkable teachers who inspire the next generation of students in his planned career as faculty at a top liberal arts undergraduate institution. He will be an asset to the educational profession wherever he goes and will make UW proud."
