Kate Starbird Honored by Seattle Storm

Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Kate StarbirdHuman Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Kate Starbird was honored by the Seattle Storm at this evening's game as part of their 2012 Women of Inspiration Awards. Starbird is one of four women chosen by the Storm for their remarkable achievements.

Prior to her career in academia, Starbird played professional basketball for the Seattle Reign and for several teams in the WNBA, including the Seattle Storm. She received the James Naismith National Player of the Year Award while playing at Stanford University. Starbird was also the star of her high school basketball team at Lakes High School in Lakewood, WA.
