Cassie Atkinson-Edwards, Office Manager for Human Centered Design (HCDE), has been nominated for a Distinguished Staff Award at the University of Washington, the highest honor for staff at the university.
In the year and a half that Cassie has been with HCDE, she has coordinated the remodeling of several classrooms and labs in HCDE’s Sieg Hall; played an instrumental role in growing the HCDE Corporate Affiliates Program, acting as the primary liaison between the department and CAP members; organized several HCDE events including the HCDE Career Fair, World Usability Day, and Corporate Affiliates Day; and managed the HCDE front desk on a daily basis.
Several HCDE staff members collaborated on letters of support for Atkinson-Edwards’ nomination, saying “Cassie has elevated the organizational infrastructure, customer service, image, and appeal of HCDE. It is evident that with each new project and challenge she strives to produce an end-result of quality, relevance and value, and consistently meets those goals with success. The outcome is routinely excellence.”
Up to five recipients will be chosen from this year's nominations to receive the award, which will be announced in late April 2014.
