The College of Engineering's Aeronautics & Astronautics Department was renamed the William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics in 2012 to recognize the shared history of the University of Washington and the Boeing Company.

To honor of the renaming, the College of Engineering held an event on February 4, with alumni from all ten engineering departments who work at Boeing invited to celebrate. The Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) has more than 30 alumni who currently work at Boeing, and several of them were able to attend the event.

Congratulations to the William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics on its renaming!
