Thursday, May 11, 2017

The University of Washington's Latino Center for Health is recognizing Cecilia Aragon, Professor in the department of Human Centered Design & Engineering, for her significant achievements during the 2016-2017 academic year.

Honoring Latina and Latino faculty across all three campuses of the University of Washington, the 2017 Latinx Faculty Recognition event celebrates 18 faculty members who either published a scholarly article in a high impact journal or an influential book; were promoted to associate or full professor; have received a major grant; and/or plan to retire at the end of the year.

Aragon was promoted to Professor in September 2016, and in January 2017 she received a Fulbright scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to research and teach in Chile in 2018.

The Latinx Faculty Recognition is co-sponsored by The Graduate School, Graduate Opportunities and Minority Achievement Program, Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity, Department of American Ethnic Studies, and the Latino Faculty and Staff Association.
