The tools for innovation are more widely accessible today than ever before, but turning great ideas into impactful solutions is a thorny problem. In the global health world, organizations are catalyzing change with Grand Challenges and other mechanisms to help turn innovative ideas into commercial products. In this talk Beth Kolko, Professor of Human Centered Design & Engineering will share the journey of a small Seattle company that started with an idea and built collaborations with global health organizations and the startup ecosystem to bring a new medical device to populations worldwide.
