| Job Description: | Duties and Responsibilities: Siegmeth Consulting, LLC, a Washington-based Public Relations agency, is seeking a motivated individual for a short-term summer PR internship. The intern will be responsible for assisting with the creation of a master media pitch list specific to holiday, 2024. The intern will research technology, business, and lifestyle media outlets and find out which reporters own the holiday-specific features for those publications. The intern will log reporter contact information as well as holiday story/product submission deadlines. The research produced by the intern will be developed into a formal guide available for all PR professionals to purchase. Responsibilities include media outreach and management of spreadsheets to capture all pertinent holiday pitching information. Professional Development Opportunities: This internship will help develop the candidate’s skills in media relations while also learning the process of pitching stories/products to different media types (print, digital, broadcast). |
| Required Skills: | The ideal candidate is a university student of journalism, communications, public relations, or a similar study. The intern must have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to call and follow-up regularly with media outlets to obtain information. This is a remote position so time management skills are essential. The intern should also be competent in Google Docs and Google Sheets. |
