Housing Near the UW

The University of Washington is a small city itself, and many students choose to live on campus. Seattle consists of many quaint, funky, and family-friendly neighborhoods; those close to UW include:

  • Ballard: a fair distance from UW, but reliable bus service is available
  • Eastlake
  • Fremont: funky and fun
  • Greenlake: definitely cool, however quality places are expensive
  • Lake City: this area is gaining in popularity, a bit far away, but reliable bus service is available.
  • Northgate: uninspired homes and apartments, but inexpensive
  • Roosevelt
  • Wallingford
  • Wedgewood
  • Capitol Hill
