Kate Starbird Speaking at Frontiers of Engineering Symposium

Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Kate StarbirdHuman Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Professor Kate Starbird will be speaking at the 2013 US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, taking place in Delaware on September 19–21. Her talk, "Crowds, Crisis, and Convergence: Crowdsourcing in the Context of Disasters" is part of a session called "Designing and Analyzing Societal Networks."

The Frontiers of Engineering Symposium brings together about 100 engineers to discuss cutting-edge developments in four areas: Designing and Analyzing Social Networks, Cognitive Manufacturing, Energy: Reducing our Dependence on Fossil Fuels, and Flexible Electronics. The goal of the Frontiers of Engineering program is to bring together engineers from all engineering disciplines and from industry, universities, and federal labs to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange and promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across fields in order to sustain and build US innovative capacity.
