Evening Master of Science

Below are degree requirements for students who were admitted to the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering's (HCDE's) Evening Master of Science program prior to Fall 2011. MS students admitted after Fall 2011 should visit the current MS pages.

Curriculum

The MS program consists of 41 credits. The curriculum is broken down into the following requirements:

  • 8 credits of Theory (HCDE 501 and HCDE 502)
  • 8 credits of Research Methods (HCDE 516 plus one additional course)
  • 4 credits of Systems & Society (HCDE 505, HCDE 512, or HCDE 520)
  • 8 Credits of Media Design & Application (HCDE 510 or HCDE 518 plus one additional course)
  • HCDE 521 Seminar
  • 12 Elective Credits

Students work with their advisor and faculty to determine elective coursework related to their academic and professional goals. Course descriptions are available on the Courses page.

Course of Study

All students are required to submit a completed Course of Study Form to the Director of Student Services that is approved by two HCDE faculty before they apply to graduate.

Preparing to Graduate
