Arranging Your Internship
To arrange for your internship, you first get approval from the Internship Adviser. There are two forms you need to complete and submit to register for the internship (PDF files below). The approval form needs to be signed by both the internship adviser and the internship supervisor of the company.
- a 3-page Word document entitled, "What you need to know about your Technical Writing Internship" (information similar to that on this web site)
- an internship data and approval form (PDF)
- an internship letter of agreement (PDF)
The contract data sheet and a professional-looking resume must be turned in to the internship adviser before an entry code for HCDE 495 can be issued. Please turn in hard copies of these documents--do not send them as email attachments.
In order to ensure that you will be eligible for your internship, it is advisable to have this file completed within the first two weeks of the quarter before the quarter in which you wish to perform your internship. It is also worth noting that, because most students seem to prefer to take their internships during the spring and summer, there is less competition for available internships during autumn and winter quarters.
